The Candy Factory Goes to the Sweets Expo

Last month we visited the Sweets Expo in Chicago to look for new and different treats for The Candy Factory.  Pictured are Beth, Jeanne and Leigh with Mr. PEEP.  We got to see the newest products and revisited the manufacturers of our "old favorites" while there.  The Jelly Belly Company had a portrait of Harry Potter done with Jelly Bellies (visit our Facebook page to see a picture) and we sampled and sampled--a tough job but somebody has to do it!  Albanese Confectionery, who manufactures our gummis and great maltballs, almonds, etc., picked us up in Chicago and took us to Merrillvile, IN to tour their facility.  It operates 24 hrs. a day, and the company is so into customer service that they refuse to take new customers in order to better serve the ones they have. Now there's an interesting concept!!  Look for our finds in the upcoming months.
